Sustainability

Connectivity, development and well-being
At Aeropuertos Andinos del Perú, we include sustainability as a business development approach seeking a balance of economic, environmental and social aspects, with the purpose of generating sustainable connectivity in the airports we operate. Our sustainability strategy is aimed at contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations 2030 Agenda (SDGs), focusing mainly on the following lines of action:

Sostenibility

Current ISO 9001:2015 certification

Awarded by Bureau Veritas since 2015, and renewed in 2018 and 2021, this certification guarantees our ability to provide aircraft landing and takeoff services and passenger assistance service at our airports in Arequipa, Ayacucho, Juliaca, Puerto Maldonado and Tacna.

Peru Carbon Footprint Recognition

First Star of the "Carbon Footprint Peru" Program of the Ministry of the Environment, an official tool of the Ministry of the Environment that certifies compliance with the measurement of greenhouse gases at the airports of Arequipa, Ayacucho, Juliaca, Puerto Maldonado and Tacna in 2021.

Recognition of Occupational Health and Safety

Obtained in the category of Projects with Innovation through the Programs Design and Implementation, of the UTEC Graduate School, for Peruvian companies in 2022 by the "Safety Fans" project, a safety methodology based on motivation that managed to promote safe behaviors and increase the level of prevention culture through the recognition of those who contribute to the development of good practices.

Airport Health accreditation "AHA"

Awarded by Airports Council International - Latin America and Caribbean (ACI LAC) in 2020, it certifies the application of sanitary measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 at the Arequipa airport.

Green Airport Recognition

Obtained thanks to our Re/use Re/think program: Waste at the Service of Sustainable Consciousness, an environmental awareness project based on solid waste management implemented at the Arequipa airport. This recognition of good environmental management practices was granted by Airports Council International - Latin America and the Caribbean (ACI-LAC) in 2019.

ISO 9001:2015 certified

Since 2015, we have been ISO 9001:2015 certified, which allows us to demonstrate our ability to provide quality airport services.

Re/use Re/think Re/cycle Program

We promote the collection and segregation of solid waste for sale to a company certified in the process of reconversion to raw material. The income obtained is used in their entirety to support the development of environmental awareness workshops for children who attend schools near the airports we operate.

Environmental awareness in schools

Every year, we hold environmental awareness talks in order to involve the population in the contribution of proper waste management and responsible pet ownership.

2,500+ children from schools near the five airports have participated in the workshops to date.

Partnership with ANIQUEM

AAP has joined the ANIQUEM recycling program "Recycle to Help", which consists of co-financing the comprehensive rehabilitation of child survivors of burns through the proper management of recyclable waste, generating a double social and environmental impact. This alliance is currently taking place in Arequipa and will be expanded to Juliaca in the short term.

UNKO Initiative

"UNKO" is an initiative that seeks to establish an exhibition platform that allows local artisans and artists to access a strategic location to show and market their products to passengers and visitors, facilitating the creation of commercial connections and generating a sustainable business, as well as receiving recognition for their great work in preserving tradition through their art. It also allows us to identify artisans whose products could be part of our commercial offering on a permanent basis.

Currently, 44% of our commercial offer is made up of local artisans who were identified in UNKO.
