Arequipa is one of the most visited cities among the southern airports and expects to receive 50,946 visitors for Christmas between December 18 and 25.

Andean Airports of Peru (AAP) reported that from December 18 to 25, it expects to receive 50,946 passengers at Alfredo Rodríguez Ballón Airport in Arequipa, a 20% increase compared to the same period in 2022. This growth is attributed to the year-end holiday celebrations.

"Arequipa is the most visited airport in our concession, which also includes the airports of Ayacucho, Juliaca, Puerto Maldonado, and Tacna. Local movement in the southern region has recovered during 2023, but particularly in the last few months, it has reached pre-pandemic levels. For example, compared to December 2022, this year, we expect to close with a 29.4% growth in the number of passengers," mentioned Carlos Antonioli, Operations Manager of AAP.

AAP is a strategic ally for the southern regions and is working on a portfolio of projects for the coming years that will be crucial for development and economic growth, actively contributing to the recovery of tourism demand through the optimal operation of airports.
